Rat Policies:
1.) You must be at least 18 year or older to adopt any animals from us.
A.) If you are not 18 years old, a parent or guardian (who lives in the same household must fill out the application and agree to the contract. 2.)All adopters must fill out an application and sign the contract. A.) Adopter information (including full legal name, address and date of birth) must be proven by a valid ID when submitting the application and at pickup. B.) If you do not answer all the questions on the application or sign the contract your application will be denied. C.) You will be asked to submit photos of your cage and carrier when completing the application. All photos must contain a coffee cup to ensure they are current up to date photos. If you do not own a cage yet, your application can not be accepted until you have submitted proper photos. D.) If your application is denied, you may resubmit the application again in 30 days. (Unless otherwise stated.) E.) Applications are good for two years and then you will be asked to reapply, contracts are good unless terms change. 3.) If you are a renter, your landlord must contact me to ensure you are allowed to own pets. (via email or mail) 4.) No animals will be sold to households with children under 6 years of age. (The animals we breed are fragile and can be easily injured by mishandling. To prevent this we do not sell to homes with young children.) |
5.) All rats must be adopted in same sex pairs or groups. NO EXCEPTIONS.
6.) A deposit of 50% of the total purchase price is required at time of reservation. A.) The deposit is non-refundable unless the animals are not available for any reason. B.) The balance of the agreed upon purchase price must be paid before pickup. If you intend to pay cash, you must let me know before pickup. (If you intend to pay cash, you must let me know at the time pickup is arranged.) 7.) Once an animal is old enough to leave, we will only hold the animal for 2 weeks past their release date. (Only exception is animals going on transport.) A.) After two weeks, the buyers will be asked to pay a holding fee of $10 each week they are held after their release date. B.) If the buyer refuses to pay holding fees, they will forfeit their deposit and the animal(s) will be available to other adopters. C.) Animals using ground transport must have transport arranged no later than 2 weeks after release day and be gone no later than 4 weeks past their release date. 8.) We will work with breeders. All breeders must be 18 and have at least one year of breeding experience. For more information, please check out the section at the bottom of this page labeled "breeders". |
Rat Procedures:This is the process involved in adopting pet rats!
1.) All adopters are asked to read through our policies and contracts, then fill out the application
2.) Once your application is accepted, we can discuss the rats you're looking for and you can send a deposit for available rats. 3.) Once you have decided on the rats you'd like to reserve, please contact us to receive an invoice for the deposit. A.) Rats will be available for reserve at 3 weeks old. These are tentative reservations as some babies may not be available if temperament or health changes. B.) If you reserve a rat at 3 weeks who is not available later, any deposit can be pushed to another rat. C.) Rats will be reevaluated at 6 weeks and again at 8 weeks before they can go home. 4.) Rats will be ready to go home at 8 weeks old (unless otherwise stated). |
5. Remaining balance can then be paid and pickup arrangements can be made.
A.) Full remaining balance must be paid or the adopter will forfeit rats. B.) If you owe delivery fees, those must be paid in full before pickup. C. Pickup locations can be found under the section "pickup and transport". D.) If you plan to use a ground transporter, please contact me before making any arrangements with a transporter. 6.) On pickup day, you will be required to: A.) Bring your own carrier. I will not supply a carrier unless one was purchased before pickup. (contact me for info on carriers) B.) Show ID that matches the name, address and date of birth on your application. 7.) Before pickup you will be given: A.) A copy of the contract agreement B.) A copy of the bill of sale C.) A copy of the liability waiver D.) Birth certificates |
Rat Prices:These prices apply to each rat, not each pair. These prices are subject to change anytime. Certain animals may be more expensive due to their genetics.

Payments can be made via Venmo or PayPal. We will also accept cash at pickup for final payments as long as arrangements are made prior to pickup. Please message us if you have any issues.
Please be aware you will be asked for photos of you ID, cage (and quarantine cage if applicable) and carrier when submitting an application. Cage photos must contain a coffee cup in the photos to prove they are up to date. If you do not have a cage yet, your application can not be accepted until you have proper photos.

Waitlist:1.) You must be an approved adopter before you can join any waitlist.
2.) Adopters are asked to fill out the waitlist form below. 3.) Adopters will be asked to pay a fee to join the waitlist of their choice. (This will be deducted from the adoption fee.) 4.) Adopters on the waitlist will have first choice on any animals when they become available for reserve. (Any animals not reserved by adopters on the waitlist will be available on a first come first serve basis.) |
5.) If you are on a waitlist you are NOT required to chose an animal from the first available litter and can "pass" on available babies and remain on the waitlist for as long as you'd like.
6.) Once you have reserved animals, you will be removed from the waitlist. 7.) Waitlist fees are NON-REFUNDABLE for any reason. 8.) You still will be required to pay a 50% deposit to reserve available animals. 9.) The waitlist fee will be deducted from the final payment. Waitlist Fee: $20

Breeders:1.) Rats must be purchased in same sex pairs.
2.) Not all rats for sale to pet homes will be available to breeders. Only the best of the best will be sent out as breeding stock. 3.) Breeders who have made prior arrangements with me about certain litters will get second pick, after myself but before pet homes. 4.) Rats going to breeders will not be released until at least 10 weeks of age. 5.) Breeders must have at least 1 year breeding experience or agree to a mentorship. |
